The year was 2012 and our founders, Honza Laštůvka and Luboš Malík, started to run their first e-shops. They were brimming with ideas on how to move their business forward, but they often faced a fundamental problem. They didn’t always have the capital needed to bring their plans to fruition.
We were set up based on the personal experience of Honza and Luboš, who have run several e-shops in the past and experienced how difficult it is to get external capital from banks to invest in growth opportunities for themselves. Our Lemonero project is an attempt to change traditional ways of accessing working capital. We enable e-shops to raise the money they need to grow quickly and easily.
After a pilot phase on Shoptet, the largest domestic e-shop platform, we received an investment from KB in October 2020. In early 2021, we added two more platforms - Eshop-rychle and Upgates. It was then that we expanded our offer of services by joining the largest marketplaces in the Czech Republic, Mall and Alza, through which we offered Mall Financing and Alza Financing as an embedded service.
In November 2021, we were awarded The Best Digital Lending Solutions for SMEs by the SME Banking Club and Lemonero came first in the FinTechs in Central and Eastern Europe category for 2021. We thus officially became the best digital financing solution for SMEs.
In the second quarter of 2022, we expanded into our first foreign market, specifically Slovakia. In the rest of 2022, we plan to continue expanding into other EU countries.
Our most recent success is the launch of the embedded GoPay Financing service in cooperation with the largest Czech payment gateway GoPay. This is a uniqueand innovative form of financing for small and medium-sized e-shops using a revenue-based model, which consists of automated payments directly from sales on the e-shopor trader’s payment gateway.
